Platform Technologies Open Match Engine is designed as open architecture core matching engine which is completely configurable to handle all types of instruments such as stocks, options, derivatives, bonds, & B2B or B2C products. Platform Technologies Order Management and Matching System runs on etiher Sun Unix or Linux Application Servers. The data store can be a variety of different DBMS, such as SQL Server or Oracle. Clustered data servers are strongly recommended because of the increase in availability of the system and maximum fault tolerance.

All information, such as account history and executed transactions, are written to the data store in a seperate process. This allows for redundancy as well as an easier restart after a system failure. The concept of programming for a distributed architectual design takes full advantage of multiple CPU hardware. The system may consist of one or many application servers depending upon each clients specific performance needs.
